Seeing a Skin Doctor in Manchester
CLNQ’s skin service is led by Dr Kajal Babamiri, a GP with a Specialist Interest in Dermatology and a co-founder of the clinic. Consultations are £100 and are with a doctor, not a therapist or an adviser.
A note on terminology, because it matters. Dr Babamiri is a GP with a specialist interest in dermatology, not a consultant dermatologist on the GMC specialist register. Some clinics blur that line. We would rather be plain about it: for lesion assessment, mole checks, acne, pigmentation and the great majority of skin complaints this is exactly the right level of care, and where something needs a consultant dermatologist or a plastic surgeon we will tell you and arrange it.
What a Skin Doctor Can Help With
- Skin lesions — moles, skin tags, cysts, milia, warts, seborrhoeic keratoses and lipomas
- Anything that has changed — a lesion that is growing, bleeding, itching, changing colour or is simply new. This is the appointment worth making.
- Acne and acne scarring — prescription treatment first, resurfacing afterwards
- Pigmentation and melasma — including Cosmelan and Dermalan protocols
- Rosacea and facial redness — medical management and Vbeam laser
- Eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis — assessment and prescription management
- Hair loss — investigation before treatment, because several causes are correctable without any procedure

Mole Checks and Skin Cancer Concerns
A full body mole check is £250 and a single-lesion consultation is £100. Where a lesion is removed and warrants analysis, histology is £150 for the first specimen and £100 for each subsequent one.
When to book rather than wait. Any mole or lesion that has changed in size, shape or colour; that bleeds without being knocked; that itches persistently; that has an irregular border or more than one colour; or that is new and growing. None of those means something is wrong. All of them mean it is worth ten minutes of a doctor’s time.
If we find something that needs specialist or NHS care, we will say so and help you get there quickly. We would rather refer you on than treat something we should not.
