Which Check Do You Actually Need?
If you have a specific symptom — fatigue, weight change, hair loss, low mood, irregular periods — a targeted test is usually better value than a broad panel. A GP consultation at £100 will establish which test answers your question.
If you are well and want a baseline — the Essential Plus Health Check at £295 covers the standard territory: blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and HbA1c, kidney and liver function, full blood count and thyroid.
If you want depth — the Well Man or Well Woman Health Check at £695 adds a physical examination, a wider panel and a longer consultation.
If you are building a longevity picture — CLNQ Life from £500 adds body composition, grip strength and a structured plan with re-measurement, which a one-off health check does not.
What a Health Check Will Not Do
A private health check is not a cancer screen. It will not detect most cancers, and a clear result should not be read as one.
Broad panels in well people also throw up borderline abnormalities at a predictable rate. Most are meaningless variation, but they generate worry, repeat tests and occasionally unnecessary investigation. That is a real cost of testing and it is rarely mentioned.
We include a consultation with every check specifically so that results are interpreted in context by a doctor, rather than handed over as numbers with reference ranges and left to you.
