Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly referred to as Botox. Botulinum toxin in Manchester and Cheshire is used to relax muscles that cause lines and wrinkles. Botox are an effective and safe way to improve the fine lines and wrinkles. They are most effective for dynamic lines, which are those lines that come when you make facial expressions such as frowning. The treatment takes about 15-20 minutes to perform. The results take up to 2 weeks to become noticeable as it takes a few days for the action on the muscles.

How Botox works
The Botox toxin works by blocking the chemical signals from the nerve endings to the muscle. This helps relax the muscle and reduce the movement that normally happens when the muscle contracts. The effect of this is improvement in the dynamic lines and wrinkles. Our Cheshire & Manchester Botox treatment is most commonly used for the forehead lines; crow’s feet around the eyes; frown lines; and bunny lines on the nose. This treatment is also effective for the dimpling of the chin. Botox injections are also commonly used for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating of the scalp, armpits and palms.

The anti-wrinkle treatment is performed using very fine injections targeting the specific muscles. There may be a mild amount of swelling or redness at the individual injection sites. Occasionally, some patients may experience a small amount of bruising which settles quickly.

The three standard areas. Forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, and crow’s feet. Most patients start with one or two and add the third later.
Masseter and bruxism. Injecting the jaw muscles slims a square lower face and, more usefully for many patients, relieves teeth grinding, jaw ache and the headaches that come with it. One of the few aesthetic treatments with a clear medical dividend — see bruxism treatment.
Nefertiti lift and neck microtox. Relaxing the platysmal bands that pull the jawline downwards, sharpening the jaw and softening neck banding without surgery.
Lip flip. A small dose along the upper lip rolls it slightly outward, increasing the pink show without adding volume. Subtle, inexpensive, and often all a patient actually wanted.
Trap tox. Relaxing the upper trapezius, which lengthens the neck visually and relieves tension for people who carry stress in their shoulders.
Hyperhidrosis. Genuinely life-changing for people with severe sweating, and longer-lasting than cosmetic treatment at six to nine months.

Who Is Suitable For Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Most healthy adults over 18 with dynamic lines, or with a medical indication such as bruxism or excessive sweating. The best cosmetic results come from treating lines before they become permanently etched into the skin, which is why many patients start in their early thirties.
It is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; have myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome or another neuromuscular disorder; have an infection at the injection site; or have reacted to botulinum toxin previously. Certain antibiotics, particularly aminoglycosides, interact with it — bring your medication list.
One assessment that matters. If you have significant hooding of the upper eyelids, treating the forehead can make it look worse by removing the compensatory brow lift you have been using without realising. That is a judgement a surgeon makes better than an injector, and it is sometimes the point at which upper blepharoplasty is the honest answer instead.
How Long Do Anti-Wrinkle Injections Last?
Three to four months for most patients in most areas. Masseter treatment often lasts longer, four to six months, because the muscle is large. Treatment for excessive sweating typically lasts six to nine months, because sweat gland nerve endings regenerate more slowly than those at the neuromuscular junction.
It takes three to five days to start working and ten to fourteen days to reach full effect. Judge the result at two weeks, not at two days. We offer a review at that point.
Regular treatment tends to lengthen the interval over time as the treated muscles weaken. It is not true that you need more and more.
