Anti-wrinkle injections are an effective and safe way to improve the fine lines and wrinkles. They are most effective for dynamic lines, which are those lines that come when you make facial expressions such as frowning. The treatment takes about 15-20 minutes to perform. The results take up to 2 weeks to become noticeable as it takes a few days for the action on the muscles.
How it works
The anti-wrinkle injection toxin works by blocking the chemical signals from the nerve endings to the muscle. This helps relax the muscle and reduce the movement that normally happens when the muscle contracts. The effect of this is improvement in the dynamic lines and wrinkles. This is most commonly used for the forehead lines; crow’s feet around the eyes; frown lines; and bunny lines on the nose. This treatment is also effective for the dimpling of the chin. Botulinum injections are also commonly used for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating of the scalp, armpits and palms.
